ZAMBRANA, ALBERTINA TORRES, 88, died December 10, 2011 in Sebring, FL. She was born in Yauco, Puerto Rico. Tata, as she was lovingly known, graduated from the University of Puerto Rico with a Masters Degree in Education. She became an Elementary, and High School Teacher and retired as a High School Principal. She loved to travel and did so extensively throughout Europe, Latin America and the Middle East where she retraced history in places like Jerusalem, Egypt, Spain, France, Germany and Italy. After marrying Victor Zambrana, they decided to establish residence in Sebring, Florida. Tata worked as a Volunteer for St. Catherine's Catholic Church's Parish for many years where she made many friends, some of which became her extended family. She is survived by her nieces and nephews; Jose Alberto, Monsita, Rosario, Rolando, and Vivian, Torres, David Ferrer and Abby Rodriguez, by her Sister in Law, Carmen Torres, by her friends and extended family, Fr. Jose A. Gonzales, Marta and Johnny Esquilin, and Mayda Marrero and by the many friends she made at St. Catherine's Congregation. Tata will forever live in the hearts of her family and friends. Her kindness, her love, her support and her smile will be sorely missed. A mass will be celebrated 7:00 pm, Thursday at St. Catherine Catholic Church with burial to be 12:30 pm, Friday at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL. Memorial donations in memory of TATA are requested to St. Catherine School.
