Ardythe Bielefeld

BIELEFELD, ARDYTHE JUNE, 88, of Sebring, FL, died peacefully at her residence, on Wednesday, June 30, 2010, surrounded by her loving family. Ardythe was born in Lima, OH, June 23, 1922, to William and Wilmetta Huston. Ardythe met Vernon at a church function in Lima and they were married at her home in Lima on August 21, 1942. She worked her way at J.C. Penny's to pass the uncertainty of Vernon in Europe for four years during W.W. II. After Vernon returned in 1946, they had several moves, finally, they settled in Lakeland, FL. Ardythe worked in Lakeland as a receptionist in the Psychiatric office for several years. She successfully completed the Licensed Practical Nursing Program at Polk Junior College in 1962, working at Lakeland Regional Pediatrics was a joy for her. After Vernon accepted the Administrative position at Highlands General Hospital in Sebring in 1974, Ardythe resumed her nursing career. She also served as Head Nurse at the Palms Alzheimers unit. In their retirement, both Ardythe and Vernon enjoyed working with H & R Block Tax in Lake Placid for several years. Because of their love of adventure, they enjoyed traveling to numerous countries. She was a Paul Harris Fellow recipient presented by Rotary Club of Sebring. She was a former choir member of First United Methodist Church. Ardythe is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Vernon; daughters, Celeste (Eddie) Mead and Dawne Bielefeld all of Lakeland, FL; sister, Thelma Thomas, McCaysville, GA and her beloved nurse, Theresa Roman-Hecken, Lake Placid, FL. A tribute to mom by daughter, Dawne, "Strenth has never been known to easily say, "Goodbye". The family will receive friends 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, Friday at Morris Funeral Chapel. Graveside services will be held Monday in New Knoxville, Ohio. The family suggest memorials to Good Shepherd Hospice, because of their devotion in our time of need.
