Billy C. Cason

Cason, Billy C., 82, passed away August 13, 2011, at home. He was born in Sebring, FL, on January 20, 1929, and was a lifelong resident of Sebring. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clark and Lorena Cason. He was an active member of First Baptist Church, Sebring, serving as a deacon and greeter for many years. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was proud to be a Sebring Blue Streak and a Florida Gator.
He was a teacher and school administrator in the Highlands County School System. Throughout his 39 years of service in the school system he was principal of Sebring High School for 16 years, superintendent from 1980-84, principal at Lake Placid Elementary for five years and several other administrative positions in the county.
He is survived by his wife, Anne P. Cason; daughters Lee Anne Austin (Sam), Colbert, GA; Eve Osterlund (David), Midland, Texas; Jeanne Jones (Joseph), Melbourne, FL; grandchildren Blake, Elizabeth and Emily Austin; Clark, Annie, Olivia and Miriam Osterlund; and Connor Jones. The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 16, 2011, from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at Morris Funeral Chapel, 307 S. Commerce Ave., Sebring, FL 33870. A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at 11 AM.
