FARMER, BILLY G., 82 of Sebring, FL died December 2, 2009 at the Palms of Sebring. He was born in Kansas City, MO to Gordon and Blanche Farmer and resided in Erie and Ft. Collins, CO as a young man, a true Westerner at heart. He met Marilyn Y. Miller at the University of Denver. After their marriage in 1950 they moved to Florida in 1953, Billy became one of the first Allstate Insurance Agents in Florida, retiring after 30 years of service. A W.W. II Navy veteran, Seaman First Class, Aviation Machinist. He was very active in Boy Scouts of America, Girl Scouts of America, Volunteer Fireman, served as Chief of the Maitland, FL and Asst. Chief in Geneva, FL, member of the planning and zoning board for the City of Maitland; member and deacon at First Congregation Church, Winter Park, FL; Rotary Club of Sebring and a Paul Harris Fellow. Billy enjoyed restoration of his American LeFrance firetruck; woodworking, mechanics, camping, football, motorcycles, dogs, cats and horses as well as his grandchildren and great grandchildren who called him Gramps. Billy was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn Y. Farmer and sister Ferol Kent. He is survived by his loving family, daughters and son-in-laws, Jacqueline and Mark Andrews, Sebring and Lynda and Dave Good, Bayfield, WI; grandchildren and their spouses, Daniel (Laura) Andrews, Kathleen (Dave) Gellatly, David (Christine) Good, Jason (Aimee) Andrews; great grandchildren, Matthew Farmer, Nathan Charles, Hannah Elizabeth and Carson Laurance.
