Clarence J. Elkins

ELKINS, CLARENCE JOSEPH, 82 of Lake Placid, FL died September 3, 2010 in Lake Placid. He was born in Cabell County, West Virginia. A veteran of U.S. Army serving in W.W.II and Korean Conflict. He was involved in construction and building launch pads at Cape Canaveral and construction of space mountain at Disney World. At the age of 50 he graduated from University of Central Florida with a BA in Engineering. He retired from United Telephone moving to Lake Placid from Ft. Myers, FL in 1989. He enjoyed photography and loved to entertain playing his hormonica. He is survived by his sons, Robin Elkins, and Shannon Elkins both of Orlando, FL and daughter, Sandy Scott, Aurora, CO; sisters, Glenna Ramsey, Huntington, WV, Imogene Chapman, OH, Nancy Canterbury, NC, Frances Jones, Orlando, FL and Dorothy Wellman, OH, twelve grandchildren.
