David Clifton Cleveland Sr., passed on June 5, 2024 and was surrounded by family.
David was born in Boynton Beach, FL, on October 28, 1961 to Ronald Clyde
Cleveland Sr. and Deanna (Bonnie) Jackson Cleveland. He was raised in Hialeah, FL
and moved to Sebring, FL in 1977. He was known as the “Wild Man”. He met the
love of his life, Day, shortly after high school. They were married on April 13, 1985
and all 39 years were full of love, sacrifice and adventure. David was an
automotive machinist for NAPA of Sebring for 10 years. After that time, he and
Day took a leap of faith to start their own business, D&D Automotive Machine
and Repair. The shop thrived for nearly 30 years.
The few hours that David wasn’t working he was coaching youth sports, hunting,
fishing, drag racing, and stock car racing. David was selfless in all aspects of his
life. Whether it was helping a friend in need, family member, or even a complete
stranger, he was there without hesitation. Family always came first and he made
sure his family knew he loved them, although he was a man of few words.
In 1986 they welcomed their first child David Clifton Cleveland Jr. (Caitlin Michelle
Cleveland) followed by Joshua Corbin Cleveland (Chelsea Meyan Cleveland) in
1987, Sarah Day (Cleveland) Mayworth (Benjamin Thomas Mayworth) in 1989 and
Matthew Ronald Cleveland in 1990. Anytime you ran into David he was sharing
proud moments of each of their lives.
David is also survived by his grandchildren who were his biggest joys, Kendra
Leighann Cleveland, Savannah Brielle Cleveland, Kyleigh Rae Cleveland, Meyan
Elizabeth Reid, Paisley Rose Cleveland, Bryson James Cleveland, Paisley Scott Reid,
Hudson Thomas Mayworth, Grover Joshua Cleveland, Weston James Mayworth,
Huck Clifton Cleveland and Addy Grace Mayworth. As well as his mother Deanna
(Bonnie) Jackson Cleveland, brother Ronald Clyde Cleveland Jr., sister Patti
Cleveland Poulson (Russ Poulson), brother Gregory Donald Cleveland Sr. and
many other nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
A celebration of life will be held at Rafter T Ranch in Sebring on Saturday, June 22,
