BROOKS, DONALD I., 80 of Sebring, FL died Monday, May 10, 2010 at Crowne Pointe Assisted Living Facility. Don was born in Syracuse, NY, a graduate of Manlius High School, Manlius, NY; joining the U.S. Navy in 1945, a veteran of Korean Conflict and Vietnam. He retired in 1967 with the rank of Chief Aviation Machinist Mate. Don then served as District Executive for Gulf Ridge Boy Scout Council for twelve years. He owned and operated Don Brooks Realty and Auction Company; was a member of First United Methodist Church, Sebring; a member of V.F.W. Post #4300, American Legion, Fleet Reserve, Viet Nam Veterans, USS Forrestal Assoc., Italian American War Veterans of the United States and Disabled American Veterans. Don was Past Master of Wauchula Masonic Lodge #17; Scottish Rite Bodies; Egypt Shrine Temple; Highlands Shrine Club; Past President of Sebring Sunrise Rotary Club; Past Exalted Ruler of Lake Placid Elks Lodge. Don is survived by his loving family. Children-David Brooks (Jan Workman)-- Green Cove Springs, FL, Donna Carlisle (Kenneth)--Sebring, Kenneth Brooks, Jacksonville, FL, Janet Long(Greg)--Haines City, FL and Michelle Brooks (Justin Alvarez)--Sebring; brother, Paul Brooks (Ellie)--Blairsville, GA; sisters, Phyllis Ferguson (James) and Paula Wittier all of Syracuse, NY; fourteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. Visitation 7-9, Friday and 10:00 am - 11:00 am at Morris Funeral Chapel with services at 11:00 am, Saturday at the Chapel.--Rev. A.C. Bryant officiating. Wauchula Masonic Lodge will do the Masonic Honors. Military Honors will be at Jacksonville National Cemetery , 2:30 pm, Monday. Memorials are suggested to Disabled Veterans
