SWEENEY, DOYLE G., 96 of Sebring, FL, passed away, August 28, 2013 in Coldwater, MI. Doyle was born in Columbia City, IN, son of the late, Perry and Beulah (Sellers) Sweeney. Prior to moving to Sebring he was a Fruit and Vegetable inspector for northern Indiana. In 1957 Doyle moved to Sebring and he and his late wife, Jean, developed Sweeney's Mobile Home Park and he also owned Sweeney's Aluminum Products. Doyle joined the Elks in 1946 in Whitley County, IN and is a Past Exhaulted Ruler of Sebring Elks Lodge and Past District Deputy of the South Florida Elks. Member of Sebring Masonic Lodge #249 F & AM; Mizpah Shrine Temple, Ft. Wayne, IN and a charter member of Highlands Shrine Club. A former member of Sebring Golf Association and Coldwater Country Club. Doyle is survived by his companion, Florence Barnes and her children, Barbara Darby, San Diego, CA, Rebecca VanWhy, Sandusky, OH, George Haas and Howard Haas both of Coldwater, MI; nephew, James A. Weeks, Ridgecrest, CA; cousin, Dr. Stuart Dean Sweeney, MD, Alexandria, IN. An Elks Service will be held 11:00 am, Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013 at Morris Funeral Chapel and Masonic Graveside Rites will follow 12 noon, at Lakeview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Memorial donations are requested to Boy Scouts of America, %Gulf Coast Ridge, 13228 N. Central Avenue, Tampa, FL 33612. A luncheon will be at 1:00 pm at the Sebring Elks Lodge.
