On February 14, 2024, a retired proud Air Force veteran, Master Sergeant James (Jim) Edwin Lora, loving husband, father, and brother passed away peacefully in Cape Coral, Florida. Jim was born in McComb, Ohio on May 22nd, 1943, to parents Robert Eugene and Loretta (Rigel) Lora. Jim grew up in Ohio and enlisted in the Air Force when he was 19. Jim graduated from McComb HS in Ohio in 1961. He served his country for 22 years and was stationed all over the world, including Japan and Holland.
Jim was preceded in death by his wife Mable Lora. Survivors include two children from a previous marriage to Sharon (Bott) Lora, James Edwin Lora Jr of Ft. Myers, FL & Darlene Eades (Husband John Eades) of Buford, GA, four grandchildren Joshua Lora, Kari-lyn LeDrew (Husband Christopher LeDrew), Victoria Richardson (Husband Kincaid Richardson) and Ashley Eades, and four great-grandchildren who filled his heart with joy Aiden, Mackenzie, Isabella and Karina. He had 5 stepchildren, 5 step grandchildren, and 4 step great-grandchildren. Jim loved spending time with his nephew William Smith (wife Regina Smith) and loved Regina’s cooking.
Jim traveled across the United States in his RV, played golf, and enjoyed family time in Florida. He loved his motorcycles and other off-road toys along the way. If you knew Jim, you would know how stubborn and hard-headed he was, but he had his soft spots as well. His granddaughter Kari-lyn spent the last two years making sure he had the best memories. He enjoyed his great-granddaughter's soccer games, family bbq's, and going to the movies while eating his favorite candy bar, Three Musketeers
Funeral services will be held at Sarasota National Cemetery in Sarasota Florida on March 22nd at 1 PM
