James "Jim" Allen Pollard, age 79, of Avon Park, Florida, passed away on Monday, December2, 2024. He was born on January 21, 1945, in Plant City, Florida, as the only child of Walter James Pollard and Annie Mae Thompson-Pollard-Robinson. Jim was the beloved Director of the Sebring Historical Society, where his deep love for history and genealogy positively impacted many lives. His unwavering faith provided a strong foundation throughout his life, inspiring countless acts of kindness and generosity towards others. Before moving to Avon Park, he brought joy to many as the owner of the Orange Blossom Tea Room and Catering in Plant City, where he created a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all.Jim's legacy will forever resonate in the hearts of those he touched and the love he shared so generously. His passion for life and dedication to preserving the rich history of Highlands County for future generations will be fondly remembered. We are grateful for the warmth and enthusiasm he brought into our lives, and he will be deeply missed. We invite you to honor Jim's life at a memorial service on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Morris Funeral Chapel, 307 S Commerce Avenue in Sebring. Interment will take place later at Oaklawn Cemetery in Plant City, Florida. After the service, please join us for a light luncheon at the Charlie F. Weigle House at 1989 Lakeview Drive in Sebring. The Sebring Historical Society will graciously host this gathering in remembrance of Jim. Your presence will uplift the family as we unite to celebrate his lasting legacy. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Sebring Historical Society in Jim's honor.
