Jerry L. Rose went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on May 16, 2023 at the age of 89. The only son of Betty Walden. He was born and raised in Columbus Ohio. He was a true Ohio State Buckeye fanatic, watching every game he could.
He is survived by his loving, devoted wife Mary Ellen Rose which he shared many beautiful experiences during 59 years of marriage. His 3 sons, Thomas Jerry Rose, Charles Rose and Edward Rose; 5 daughters, Kathryn Collins, Susan Kerns, Melody Kimbler, Betty Lewis and Shelly Gardner; his sister, Mary Wright Fralick; grandchildren Daniel Hayden, Misty Kemp, Craig Kerns,Jr., Taylor Seals, Isaac Rose, Lael Pannell, Hannah Rose, Maurica Hatcher, Melissa Harris, Ericka Barr, Ashley Calendine, Jennifer Suits and Shannon Caple and several great grandchildren.
His favorite past-times were boating, playing pool, golfing and fishing, especially when his children were with him.
Jerry was a member of First Baptist Church of Lake Josephine where he faithfully served in the choir, singing solos and working in the kitchen. His greatest joy was serving the Lord through singing. He sang with great passion and his desire was to bless those listening and spread the gospel of Jesus through his songs.
He left us after a long battle with dementia, but we are confident through Gods promises that his mind is healed and he is singing in a heavenly choir.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 10th, at First Baptist Church of Lake Josephine, 111 Lake Josephine Drive, Sebring Florida 33875 with visitation at 10:00 and the Celebration of Life at 11:00 with a meal to follow.
