Jimmy A. Gilbreath passed away November 1, 2023 at the age of 77. The son of Noel and Gladys (Kilpatrick) Gilbreath. Jimmy was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ and was born and a lifelong resident of Sebring. Jimmy had worked for Avon Park Correctional Institute before becoming a Letter Carrier for The United States Post Office. He was a graduate of Sebring High School Class of 1964, he was a veteran of the United States Army, member of the Sebring High School Band Boosters. Jimmy along with his wife Sara served as Santa and Mrs. Claus on the Sebring City Circle of Lights for many years. He loved being with his family going to band concerts, football games and wherever his 2 daughters and grandsons performed. He was also there watching and supporting his granddaughter at her beauty contests. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Peggy Peck.
Jimmy is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sara Fore Gilbreath; two daughters, Shannon (Chris) Ritenour and Brandy Grantham; sisters, Frances McGee, Sebring, June Smith, Tennessee, Judy Holloway, Alabama, and Jeri Lynn Mayhew of Orlando; 5 grandchildren, Austin, Forest, Hunter, Gauge and Raina. Services will be held Saturday, November 4, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Morris Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Military Honors will follow the service.
