John H. Kauffman

JOHN H. KAUFFMAN of Sebring passed away Sunday, October 21, 2018 at Somers Hospice House. He was born March 28, 1938 in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania to Martin Luther and Mary Elizabeth Gledhill Kauffman. He was very proud of his service to the United States Marine Corp and the Pennsylvania State Police. He also worked with the Seminole Brighton Indian Reservation and retired as a Lieutenant for Lake Placid Police Department. He was also one of the founding instructors at the South Florida State College Police Academy, a Classification Specialist with the Florida Department of Corrections and a member of Bible Fellowship Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, sons Joseph and Mike. He is survived by his wife, Diane of Sebring; children, Jon (Terri), Lisa, Scott and James (Wendy) all of Pennsylvania, Kelly (Mary) Bengtson, Sebring, and Ripley Bengtson of Sebring. 14 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Monday, October 29, 2018 at 1:30 PM at Bible Fellowship Church. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until service time.
