Joseph O. Rugenstein

Joseph Omar Rugenstein 69 of Sebring passed away May 27, 2023 in Waterloo, Iowa. He was born September 3, 1953 in Utica, Michigan to Omar and Martha Rugenstein. He was the President of the AACA of Highlands County, President of the Model Railroad Club. He was a member of the Pioneer Park and Florida Flywheelers for 55 years. He was also a member of the Florida Antique Power Club. He worked for Tuco Peat and Tubbs Bulb Farm, 1972-2009, He was a School Bus Driver for the 11 years. He was married to Dixie Hawkins in 1977, they were married for 25 years. He had studied at South Florida State College for Auto Tech. He was preceded in death by his parents, Omar and Martha; his aunt and uncle Matilda and Burtwell Rugenstein

He is survived by his children, Becky (William) Hansbarger, Jodi Rugenstein and Ricky Rugenstein; His cousin, Bob (Jana) Rugenstein; 5 grandchildren, Tasha Hansbarger, William Hansbarger, Jr., Brody Rugenstein, Desaray Hansbarger and Brandon Rugenstein.

Services will be Saturday, June 10, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Morris Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
