Joseph Byrd Smith

SMITH, JOSEPH B. "JB", 91, of Sebring passed away on July 6, 2018.  He was born in Palmdale, FL, his parents were the late Henry Byrd and Martha Smith.  He was a veteran of the US Navy and worked as Camp Manager at Camp Cloverleaf in Lake Placid and a lifelong resident of this area.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Imo Jean Smith and his sister, Ruth May.  He is survived by his children, Joseph B. (Janice) Smith, Jr. of Kendallville, IN, Montene Smith of Tampa, FL, Dawayne Durrance of Bonifay, FL and Shannon Durrace of Sebring, FL and sister-in-law, Sue Gaskin of Sebring, FL and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Funeral service will be Tuesday, July 10th at 11:00 AM, Placid Temple Church of God with visitation one hour prior.  Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Lake Placid.  Arrangements by Morris Funeral Chapel, Sebring.
