Margaret "Peggy" Jones

Margaret “Peggy” Jones, 85 passed away on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at the Manor at Lake Jackson. She was born December 2, 1932 in Sebring, FL to Ben and Lois (Story) McGee. Peggy graduated Sebring High School in 1950 and continued her education at Grady Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Atlanta, Georgia graduating in 1953 as a Registered Nurse. She started her career at Lakeland General Hospital, and then returned to Sebring and married the late Charles Brandon Jones, Jr. on February 4, 1956. After returning to Sebring, she continued her nursing career at Highlands General Hospital as a Surgical Nurse. She also owned citrus groves, and helped her husband in the family business, Jones Oil & Tire, Inc. Peggy was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church where she was a faithful servant teaching Sunday School and singing in the choir for many years. She also was a member of the Sebring Historical Society. Peggy enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, bridge club, shopping and hosting parties. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles (CB) Jones, Jr, brothers, Ralph and B.H. McGee, her sister Janis O'Berry and her daughter-in-law, Glynda Jones. She is survived by her children, Dale Jones, Steve Jones, Joyce (Phillip) Statler and Barry (Janine) Jones; Sister, Joyce Bovard, sister-in-law Frances McGee; grandchildren, Casey (Megan) Jones, Drew (Joanna) Jones, Krystal (Robert) Nelson, Michael (Cassandra) Jones, Ryan Jones, Maggie (Ryan) Chandler, Colton (Andrea) Statler, Mark (Renee) Lawrence, Kayla Jones, Wesley Jones and 13 great grandchildren. Visitation will be at 2:00 PM with a service to follow at 3:00PM, Sunday, June 10, 2018 at First Baptist Church Sebring. Interment will follow at Pinecrest Cemetery.
