Nancy Lee "Nano" Walker, 59, of Sebring Florida, lost her battle with cancer on October 14, 2011. Nano was born in Milwaukee Wisconsin in 1952, but spent over 40 years in the Avon Park/Sebring area.
Nano's parents, Edward and Dorothy Williams Cook, worked in the administration of Walker Hospital in Avon Park. Nano was the last surviving member of the Cook family in Highland County; she has many relatives living outside Florida. Nano is survived in Sebring by her faithful dog Baby Girl and her many friends at the VFW, American Legion, and AmVets.
Nano had a number of interesting "careers" in Highland County, ranging from golf course maintenance to administration at Engine Support Group at the Sebring Airport. A self taught golfer, Nano was in demand at golf outings for her putting and driving prowess.
Nano was the Crew Chief for Troup Racing, a team that competes in SCCA events at Sebring International Raceway.
A celebration service will be held at VFW Post 4300 at 4:00 pm on Saturday, October 22.
As a life member of VFW Post 4300, Nano has asked that in lieu of flowers contributions be made to the Post 4300 Building Fund.
Condolences or Life Stories may be expressed in her Guestbook. Morris Funeral Chapel, Sebring, Fl.
