Newell M. Hull passed away in full hospice care surrounded by Family at his home on Friday January 5, 2018. Newell was born in Bippus, IN on February 20, 1936. He is survived by Frances, his 'love at first sight', soulmate for 58 years. His Son, James Hull, his wife Heather and Granddogs, Gracie, Rocko and Sadie. His Daughter Judy Hull Jackson, her husband Carl and Beloved Grandson, Benjamin Hull Jackson and more Granddogs Agatha and Ruby. He is also survived by his brother Norman Hull, wife Shirley, Norman's children Jeff Hull, wife Linda and John Hull, wife Vina, their cutie Samuel Hull.
Newell never met a stranger, he was well known for striking up a conversation in any public place and giving people his address and phone number. He was a good judge of character, because after many years, he had received much joy from this endeavor. As a boy, he believed he had enough schooling after the first day, so he walked home to the farm to continue work there. His attitude changed when he realized that women attended school. Newell enjoyed dressing sharply and living life actively and lending a helping hand before someone knew they needed one.
Newell was an Army Veteran. He was a member of the Freemasons, Eastern Star, Middletown Conservation Club, Pleasant Valley Community Church (Middletown, IN), Eastside Christian Church (Lake Placid, FL), Telephone Pioneers of America (after years as a Lineman with Indiana Bell). He was a fundraiser for the West Sebring Volunteer Fire Department and long-time Patron of the Highlands County Library and Faithful member of the "Jimmy's Greek American Grill, Breakfast Club".
A memorial service will be held at Eastside Christian Church of Lake Placid, 101 Peace Ave, Lake Placid, FL 33852 at 11:00 a.m. Saturday January 13, 2018. All are welcome. Following the service a reception with food will be held in the church social hall. In lieu of gifts to the family, please have breakfast out and think of him with your friends and family, support your local farms or consider donating to one of the Charities that have touched Newell's Life.
