TAYLOR, JR., OLLIE LEE, 97 of Sebring, FL, went home to be with the Lord, March 5, 2018. He was born in Suwanee County, FL, son of the late, Ollie and Katie (Rivers) Taylor. A life long resident of Sebring, he served as class President from the 7th thru the 12 grades, a graduate of Sebring High School, class of 1941. He said his goal was to be a successful businessman. He achieved that goal and retired at age 48. He was presented with the American Legion Post #74, Legion Award Certificate of School Award for high qualities of character - Honor, Courage, Scholarship, Leadership and Service. He served with the U.S. Navy overseas and is a Past Commander of V.F.W. Post #4300 and he served long time as a director of First National Bank. A former manager of the Table Supply Store and was retired as an independent grocer of the Taylor Grocery. O.L. and his late wife, Reba were married for 72 years, they enjoyed fishing and many trips to the Keys making many good memories with their grandkids and traveling out west in their motor coach. He spoiled our family by never leaving a bone in the fish he cleaned. His fried fish and hushpuppies made us all happy! A member of Sebring Historical Society and a faithful member of First United Methodist Church, Sebring. He is lovingly survived by his family, daughter, Kaye (Travis) Wise; son, Bo Taylor; brother, Haywood O. Taylor; grandchildren, Kimberly (Mike) Hill, Lisa Garrison, Valerie (Donnie) Ming, Lee Taylor and Larry Taylor; great grandchildren, Travis (Christina) Hill, Amanda (Kevin) Prince, Dalton Garrison, Sydney Garrison, Reese Garrison, Cody Ming, Kayla Ming, Garrett Taylor, and Ty Taylor; great great grandchildren, Kalyn Hill, Rhett Hill and Layton Prince; many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends, 10-11 am, Saturday at First United Methodist Church with a service to follow at 11:00 am. Burial with Military Honors by V.F.W. Post #4300 will follow at Pinecrest Cemetery. Memorials are requested to his church or VFW Post #4300. Special appreciation for long time family caregiver Ruth Goins, care he received while in assisted living at the Palms and loving care at Vitas Hospice at Highlands Regional Hospital in his last days.
