Ozella Tubbs Allison

October 27, 1925 — February 5, 2025

Sebring

Ozella Tubbs Allison, most affectionately known as MeeMaw, was welcomed into her heavenly Father’s arms on February 5, 2025. Out of the overflow of the love the Lord put in her heart, she cherished, delighted in, and loved everyone well. She was a pillar of strength and exemplified a Proverbs 31 Woman.

God gave us the most precious gift 99 years ago when she entered the world on October 27,1925; as Laura Ozella to Arthur Jacob and Pattie Posey Tubbs of Jasper, Alabama. After her birth they moved to Florida and made Sebring their home. Her oldest sister was the late Vera (Ebert) Cribbs, and younger brother is Leon (the late Ruth) (Amy) Tubbs. She had a charming childhood growing up on Lake Jackson. They attended the Church of Christ, where she gave her life to the Lord and was baptized in Lake Charlotte.

Ozella graduated from Sebring High in 1943. She met the love of her life, Lawrence“Larry” Paul Allison and they were married December 2, 1945. The Lord blessed them with 3 children. The late Laurence “Paul” (Sue) Allison, Paula (Wally) Randall and Debbe (Kevin) Roberts. They lived several years in White Springs, FL where Larry was the principal, and Ozella was the school secretary. Upon returning to Sebring, their doors were always open as they hosted weekly sewing gatherings, expert woodcarving nights, helped with projects, shared cooking lessons, tended their garden, welcomed sleepovers, extended meals and endless coffee. In addition, MeeMaw worked at the downtown bank 19 years. Their marriage of 52 years was an inspiration and wise example.

In her sunset years, MeeMaw invested into many lives with sincere compassion and genuine care. She was active and involved in coming alongside and cheering for everyone. 3 John 1:4 says, “I have no greater joy than to know my children are walking with the Lord.” This is true for MeeMaw. The generational blessing and challenge to live for the Lord continues, thanks to her beautiful legacy. All her grandchildren and great-grandchildren live in Highlands County (30+)! Everyone who knew her felt that they were family.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Avon Park Lakes Baptist on Sunday,February 9, 2025, at 2pm, Fellowship afterwards.
