Raymond A. Davis

Raymond A. Davis, age 82 went home to be with the Lord Thursday, July 10, 2014 with his devoted wife at his bedside. He was preceded in death by his parents, Garland & Viola Davis, sister, Mary Alderman, daughter, Trudy Markland, son, Gary Davis, granddaughters, Michelle Brannan & Jennifer Paulison, & grandson David Paulison Jr.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Kathy, son, Bud Davis, daughters, Kathryn (David) Paulison and Phyllis (Shawn) Cavanaugh, brother, Larry (Marsha) Davis, grandchildren, Amy Paulison, Beth (Scott) Mitchell, Jennifer Brannan, Brian (Melissa) Brannan, Erika (Edward) Long, Patrick (Lara) Markland, Justin Markland, & Kyle Davis, and numerous great grandchildren.
Ray served as a Dade County sheriff's deputy for 11 years before becoming an agent for Metropolitan Life Ins co. and retired after moving the family to Sebring in 1980 from Miami where he was born. He loved raising cattle and having a garden & sharing his crop with others. He was a very faithful member of his church for 34 years, serving on various committees but his main focus was on visitation and being active in outreach in helping others in their time of need.
Services will be held Saturday, July 19, 2014 at the First Baptist Church of Lake Josephine, 111 Lake Josephine Dr. in Sebring, Florida with Reverend Kevin Ahrens officiating. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at 12 noon. Friends are invited to stay for a meal prepared by his loving church family.
