SPIER, RAYMOND (BOB), of Avon Park, FL passed away Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2014 at Manatee Memorial Hospital in Bradenton, FL. He was born in Grand Rapids, MI to Ray and Helen (Williamson) Spier. He served 2 years in the US Army and upon discharge was employed by the New York Central Railroad. On Dec. 6, 1958 he married Donna Houchen in Litchfield, MI and she survives. Together they owned and operated the Hillsdale Travel Center in Hillsdale, MI. He earned his private pilot license at the Hillsdale Airport in 1967. After retirement his time was spent traveling and playing golf. He will be sadly missed by his sister, Catherine (Ray) Denning of Jerome, MI and brother, Gerald Spier of Reading, MI and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. A Memorial Service will be held at Highlands Ridge in Avon Park, FL in the near future.
