Rhoderick Gordon Cameron

CAMERON, RHODERICK "ROCKY" GORDON, 72 earned his "Perfect Wings" on April 14, 2011, at Florida Hospital, Lake Placid, FL. Born June 26, 1939 in Detroit, MI, he retired to Sebring, FL in 2001. He graduated from Ferndale High School in June of 1959 and worked for 40 years as a groundskeeper at Roseland Park Cemetery. Rocky was an avid Detroit sports fan. He played four years as a varsity football defensive guard for Ferndale High School who won the state championship in his senior year. He was preceded in death by his mother Mable Cameron, father John Ogg Cameron, his beloved twin sister, Rosalind (Harold) Brenizer of Hazel Park, MI, his sister Mabel Marohn of Farwell, MI, his brother, Ken (JoAnn) Cameron of Lapeer, MI, nephew Ken Cameron of Ferndale, MI. He is survived by his sister, Jacqueline (Don) Schaefer of Kalamazoo, MI and sister Connie (Tony) Tzovarras of Sebring, FL and 17 nieces and nephews who were loved as if they were his own children. He was a man who made the most of his abilities and loved his fellow man. He leaves many friends at Southern Lifestyle ALF, Lake Placid, FL. A private Celebration of Life service will be held at the chapel at Southern Lifestyle ALF, Lake Placid, FL on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at 1:30 P.M. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given in Rocky's memory to the Special Olympics fund at the Ridge ARC, care of Ms Rhonda Beckman, 120 W. College Dr., Avon Park, FL 33825.
