Robert Clare Goodrich

Robert Clare Goodrich, 97, went Home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 21, 2023. Bob, as he was known by his friends, was born in Sandusky, Michigan on June 26, 1925, and was a 1943 graduate of Marlette High School. Upon graduation, he promptly enlisted in the Army and served during WWII in the Western Pacific and Southern Philippines till the end of the war in 1946. He came home to marry his childhood sweetheart, Betty Kirkpatrick, and they raised their three daughters in Marlette MI.

Bob is survived by his daughters: Linda (Terry) Smith of Tampa, Florida, Carole (David) Stieler of Marlette, Michigan and Denise (Randy) Johnson of Jasper, Georgia; nine grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; and four great, great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Florence Goodrich, brother and wife Harold and Helen Goodrich, wife, Betty, of 68 years, and great grandson, Keegan Stieler.

Bob was known for the Goodrich quick wit, never meeting a stranger, his generosity, love for the Jewish people and serving the Lord faithfully wherever he went.

There will be a funeral service on March 13, 2023, at 1:30 pm at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell Florida. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to United Hospice Service of Marlette Regional Hospital or Hannah D. Wolfe Retirement Residence.
