Sarah B Ruas

Sarah B. Ruas, MD,  97, passed away on September 7, 2024 in Tampa, Florida. She was born in Sancti-Spiritus, Cuba. She resided in Sebring from  1972 to 2020, when she moved to Tampa. In Sebring, she worked as a Pathologist for the former Highlands Regional Medical Center and the former Walker Memorial Hospital in Avon Park. She received her Medical Degree from the University of Havana in 1952 followed by residency training in Anesthesiology in Fall River, Mass. She was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernesto Ruas, MD in 1992. She is survived by her son Ernesto (Cathy) Ruas, MD of Tampa, FL; Sister, Rosario (Ed) Perry; 3 Grandchildren, Lisa, Emily (Franklin) and Andre (Lori); and a great grandson James as well many beloved nieces and nephews along with their children. Graveside services will be held Friday, September 13, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Lakeview Memorial Gardens. After the graveside, the family will receive friends after at Chicanes Restaurant at Inn on the Lakes, 3101 Golfview Road, Sebring, Florida.
