BIELEFELD, VERNON HAROLD, 92, died peacefully at his Sebring, FL home, with his daughters at his bedside. His loving wife Ardythe, preceded him on June 30, 2010. Vernon was born in New Knoxville, OH on December 4, 1917 to John and Freda Bielefeld. He served in the U.S. Army from 1942-1946 and landed on Utah Beach, during W.W. II. On August 21, 1942 he married Ardythe in Lima, OH; he moved to Lakeland, FL where he served as Comptroller at Lakeland Regional Hospital 1957 and later Assistant Administrator. Moved to Sebring and served as Administrator for Highlands Regional Hospital from 1974-1979. Vernon had also served as administrator to The Good Samaritan Hospital, Tampa and Wauchula Hospital retiring from hospital in 1985. Vernon and Ardythe then worked with H & R Block. Since retiring they enjoyed traveling the world together. A member of First United Methodist Church and an active choir member; a past president and life member of the Florida Chapter of Hospitals Financial Management Association; 29 year member of MENSA; Charter member of Highlands Delta Chorale;Barbershop Quartet; Past President and long time Secretary for Rotary Club of Sebring and a Paul Harris Fellow. He is survived b his loving daughters, Celeste (Eddie) Mead and Dawne Bielefeld both of Lakeland; niece, Dixie Zink and cousin, Jack Bielefeld. Services will be held at Gilberg-Hawke Funeral Chapel, New Bremen, OH. The family sugests memorials to Cornerstone Hospice, because of their devotion in our time of need.
