Walter Emerson Douglass

Douglass, Walter Emerson, of Sebring Florida was received up unto his Lord, Savior and King, Jesus of Nazareth, Messiah of Israel, on January 11, 2022. Walter was born August 26, 1925 in Springfield Ma. to Stewart and Gladys Douglass. Walter served in the US Army during the Second World War. Upon returning home after service he followed the leading of God to become a Baptist minister. After earning a Th.D. at Baptist Bible Seminary in Johnson City N.Y. He married Elvera Ruth Hayden on June 17, 1955. Water was ordained as a Baptist minister and served God over fifty years, pastoring churches in Michigan, Massachusetts, New York, and Pennsylvania and took a professorship at Heritage Baptist Institute in Springfield Ma. He fathered four children, Jeanette, David, Mark and Beverly and enjoyed sixty years of marriage until Elvera went to be with the Lord God Jesus on December 8, 2015. After the passing of his bride, Walter and his son David shared a life together as father and son, where he lived healthy, vibrant, and full of energy until he entered his son’s home for the last nine months of his life. Walter died in a state of constant prayer to God through Jesus Christ, and God took him in his sleep, without physical pain and suffering, resting by faith in the Peace of the Almighty God of Israel.
