MAINE, III, WILLIAM “BILL”, 77 of Sebring, FL passed away June 16, 2018 in Lake Placid, FL. He was born in Miami, FL to William and Bertie Maine. He had been a resident of Sebring, FL since 1982 coming from Ft. Lauderdale, FL and lived in Spring Lake since 1985. He worked for his father at National Top Shop on Federal Hwy in Ft. Lauderdale. He worked for Wilton Manors Ambulance Company in the late 60's. In 1982 he founded Bill's Auto Trim in Lorida/Sebring. He also worked for Spring Lake Golf Resort and Spring Lake Improvement District. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and was a Moose Legionnaire. His lifelong passion was being a Volunteer Firefighter and First Responder. In Ft. Lauderdale he was a member of the North Andrews Volunteer Fire Department and Broward Central Volunteer Fire Department. In Sebring he was a member of the Sebring Airport Volunteer Fire Department Association and Lorida Volunteer Fire Department Inc. He volunteered for 35 years, 10 years in Ft. Lauderdale and 25 years in Sebring. To some he was a hero. He was proceeded in death by his brother Emory Maine; wives, Janet and Audrey and his son, William “Bill” Maine, IV. He is survived by his fiance, Patricia Youngquist of Sebring; his son, Michael Maine of Statesville, NC; his daughter, Melissa Doorlag of Sebring; two grandsons, Michael John Maine, Jr. of NC and Zach Doorlag of Sebring and three great grandchildren, Haley, Ethan and Maverick Maine of NC.
